Test Overview

What is the Thyroid Function with Antibodies Blood Test?

Our Thyroid Function with Antibodies Blood Test provides a more comprehensive assessment of your thyroid health by measuring both key thyroid hormones and antibodies linked to autoimmune thyroid conditions.

Who is this test for?

This test is ideal if you:

  • Are experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, or mood fluctuations
  • Have previously had abnormal thyroid results
  • Want a more in-depth assessment of your thyroid health
  • Suspect an autoimmune thyroid condition

It’s also suitable if you want a more detailed evaluation than a standard thyroid function test.

About This Test

Your thyroid plays a vital role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and overall body function.

This test not only measures thyroid hormone levels but also checks for thyroid antibodies, which can indicate autoimmune conditions such as:

  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
  • Graves’ disease

Autoimmune thyroid conditions can affect how your thyroid functions, sometimes even before hormone levels become abnormal.

By combining hormone and antibody testing, this test provides a more complete picture of your thyroid health and can help identify potential issues at an earlier stage.

What’s Included in This Test

This test measures 5 biomarkers across 2 categories:

  • Thyroid (2 biomarkers)
    • Free T4 (Thyroxine)
    • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
  • Thyroid Antibodies (3 biomarkers)
    • Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPO)
    • Thyroglobulin Antibodies
    • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Receptor Antibodies (TRAb)

Together, these markers assess both thyroid function and potential autoimmune activity.
