Test Overview
What is the Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) Blood Test?
Our Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) Blood Test measures the level of AMH in your blood to help assess your ovarian reserve — an important indicator of fertility potential.
This test is ideal if you:
- Are planning for pregnancy now or in the future
- Want to understand your fertility potential
- Are considering fertility treatments such as IVF
- Want reassurance about your reproductive health
It’s also suitable if you simply want a clearer understanding of how your fertility may change over time.
AMH is a hormone produced by small follicles in the ovaries. The level of AMH in your blood reflects the number of eggs you may have remaining, also known as your ovarian reserve.
Unlike some other hormone tests, AMH levels can be measured at any point in your cycle, making it a convenient and reliable marker for assessing fertility potential.
This test helps provide insight into:
- Your current ovarian reserve
- How your fertility may change over time
- Whether further fertility support or advice may be beneficial
This test measures 1 key biomarker across 1 category:
- Hormones (1 biomarker)
- Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH)
- You must be 18 years or over to take this test
- No fasting is required
- This test can be taken at any point in your cycle

What biomarkers do we test?
- Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH): Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is produced by the ovaries and is used to assess ovarian reserve — the number of eggs remaining. AMH levels can provide insight into fertility potential and are commonly used in fertility assessments and treatment planning. Levels naturally decline with age, and lower levels may indicate reduced ovarian reserve.
More Information
Women are born with a finite number of eggs, and this number naturally declines with age. AMH levels provide an indication of how many potential egg follicles remain.
Higher AMH levels generally suggest a higher ovarian reserve, while lower levels may indicate a reduced reserve.
This test does not predict your ability to conceive on its own, but it provides valuable insight when considered alongside other factors such as age and overall health.
