Baby Scanning Boutique is preparing a private connection to store encrypted Governance backups in Google Drive and test their recovery. The connection is not yet active.

Google Drive access

The application requests only Google’s drive.file permission. This allows it to create and manage files it creates, or files explicitly selected for use with it. Our backup software will limit operations to the designated Governance backup folder. It does not request general access to Google Drive, Gmail, contacts or calendars.

File names, identifiers, sizes and integrity information will be used to manage and check backups.

Storage and protection

Backup contents will be encrypted before upload. Google Drive will still hold associated file metadata. The backup folder is restricted to Kristina and David, and the private recovery key is held separately in their shared encrypted password vault.

Once activated and tested, the planned retention is eight weekly backups. Older copies will be removed only after a successful replacement backup.

Authorisation credentials will be stored encrypted and excluded from source-code repositories, ordinary logs and notification emails.

Use and sharing

Google data accessed through this connection will be used only for backup, retention and recovery. It will not be sold, used for advertising or used to train AI models. Access will be limited to authorised administration and necessary service operation.

Revoking access

The authorising account holder can remove the connection through Google Account’s third-party connections settings. This prevents further authorised access once revocation takes effect; it does not automatically delete existing backups.
